A committee inaugurated by Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello to recover all government vehicles allegedly taken by former political appointees, yesterday, said it has recovered seven.

It was reported that some political office holders that served under former governor Idris Wada, allegedly, made away with many vehicles from the fleet of government’s vehicle, a day to the inauguration of the present administration.

It was gathered that the alleged refusal of the former political office holders ‎to return the vehicles, despite repeated appeals made to them by the new government, forced Bello to recently constitute the vehicles recovery committee.
The committee, headed by the governor’s special adviser on special duties, Mr Adaidu Akoh, was mandated to search and recover all government vehicles and return same, in order to accelerate the smooth running of government’s programmes.
Briefing journalists in Lokoja, Akoh said the committee, made up of a representative of the state’s ministry of justice, security agencies, transport officers in the Government House, among others, has made progress in its assignment.
