Commandant Calls for Discipline as Kogi NSCDC Trains 62 Officers in Weapon Handling, Firing Efficiency

The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State Command, Ahmad Ahmad Gandi, has charged sixty two personnel of the command who took part in the range classification exercise to live up to the expectations of the Corps by serving the nation with honor, discipline and patriotism.

Speaking at the exercise in Lokoja on Saturday, the Commandant noted that it is imperative for officers and men to acquaint themselves with the latest skills in weapon handling following the trends of attacks on security personnel, security formations, critical national assets and infrastructure, banditry, and bunkering, thus the need for training and retraining of personnel on weapon handling.

Speaking further, Ahmad Ahmad Gandi said the personnel had previously undergone five weeks rigorous and intensive training after satisfying the basic forensic requirements before embarking on the shooting range classification.

The Commandant emphasized on the need for professionalism by the personnel and warned against accidental discharge, while reiterating that, the hole essence of the exercise is to bring about maximum and better productivity in line with international best practices as obtained in other climes of the world.

Further more, he admonished them to be dutiful as the Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi is not relenting on improving the welfare of the NSCDC personnel.

Earlier on, the State Commandant appreciated the Army Commander,12 Brigade Lokoja Kogi State, Brigadier General Isang Akpaumontia, for his role towards making the exercise a success, just as he also commended other sister agencies for their consistent synergy with the Command.

In his remake, the Head of Training Department, ACC Fasakin Adebayo Olukunle, said the officers and men have been rigorously drilled in conformity to arms training both on pistol, G3 rifle and the AK-47 rifle respectively. Range classification, 25, 50 and 100 meters while the pistol was 15mm.
