Hon. Sanni Salau Ogembe, the candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Okene II House of Assembly, has charged Christians to imitate the virtues and teachings of Jesus Christ in their lives so that Okene II, Kogi State and indeed the Nigerian could be a better place to live.
Hon. Sanni also enjoined them to promote peace, love and unity and exhibit the spirit of tolerance in the accomplishment of his vision of bringing dividend of democracy to the grass root, Okene II and Kogi State.
The House of Assembly candidate who gave the advice in his Christmas message to the people of Okene II, urged Kogites to always show the positive sides of the State and de-emphasize his negative sides.
He admonished Christians in the State to emulate Jesus Christ in words and deeds and imbibe the core lessons of love, tolerance, sacrifice, generosity and peaceful co-existence which Christ stood for.
Hon. Sanni Salau Ogembe praised Christian religious leaders in Okene II and the State for conducting themselves peacefully in their religious activities and for joining government in promoting religious harmony in the State.
While felicitating the entire Christians for witnessing yet another Christmas season, he advised them to use the festive period for sober reflection and total spiritual devotion towards living in peace and harmony with adherents of other faiths.
He urged the Christian community not to relent in their prayers for a smooth transition on the forthcoming election especially Kogi State and Nigeria.
“For Kogites, this year’s Christmas should serve as the clarion call to heal our Local government and State with love. The outgoing year presented a huge challenge to Kogi State on many facets.
“Just as you make each of special for the people around you, I wish that the New Year turns out to be a very special one for you filling each day with peak of health, abundance of happiness and sunshine, bountiful luxury and prosperity and Zen like serenity.
“May the year 2019 give you the opportunity to realize your dreams, rediscover your strengths, muster your willpower and rejoice the simple pleasures that life would bring your way,” he said.
