Hon. Tom Zakari Ogijo can be described as a man of courage and vision driven by unalloyed passion for excellence. As a compassionate leader, he is an uncompromising believer in social services for the people of his constituency.
Those who have had the opportunity to work with him at close quarters would attest to the fact that he is a stickler for excellence. Most of the services provided are of excellence quality that has direct bearing with the people.
An advocate of scrupulous pursuit of merit and high – standard, he has immense regards for principles of accountability. Hon. Zakari does not brook shoddy jobs, he ensured that the people are involved in the decision that affects their lives and well being. He also organised fora where reports of the activities of his job in the National Assembly are laid before the people. As part of his flea for accountability, he ensured that all projects in his constituency are constantly and effectively monitored.
Hon. Zakari was born in the serene village of Iyale in Dekina Local Government Area. He began his formal education with the Local Education Authority (LEA) primary School Iyale between 1968 to 1973. He went to Our Lady of Schools (OLS) Anyigba between 1973 to 1978, with the early show of excellence performance he was admitted into School of Basic Studies (SBS) Makurdi in 1980 to 1982. Haven’t performed creditably at the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) examinations, he was offered admission at University of Jos (UNIJOS) in 1983 to 1986 where he studied Economics.
In his quest for knowledge, he went further to Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT) between 2000 to 2002 for his Masters in Business Administration. In the year 2008 to 2012 Hon. Zakari obtained Msc in Development Economics from Benue State University (BSU).
These are living testimonies that Hon. Zakari is a genius who pursued his educational career with commitment and intellectual profundity.
