The youth wing of the Kogi State chapter of National Cashew A‎ssociation of Nigeria (NCAN) has honoured member representing Dekina/Bassa in the House of Representatives, Benjamin Ikani Okolo for his support to cashew business community.

In a press statement signed by Mohammed Ichapi, NCAN described the Ikani as an asset to his immediate community and the entire state.
The award conferred on the lawmaker was hinged on his efforts at creating awareness, provision of enabling environment and facilities that helped ease movement of their products from the hinterland to the final destination through donation of tricycles.
According to Ichapi, the provision of high yield seedlings by Ikani and financial support to traders and farmers has helped in no small measure to improve economic activities of the area in view of the lack of salary to civil servants.
The group promised continuous support to the political ambition of the federal lawmaker.
Responding, Honourable Ikani, who was represented by his senior legislative assistant, Mallam Dauda Jibrin, urged the people of the area to key into planting of more economic trees.
