Cash Transfer: Kogi Finance Commissioner Urges Compliance With Rapid Response Register Validation

The Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris has urged all Kogites to comply with National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) and Kogi State Operations and Coordinating Unit (SOCU) in the ongoing Rapid Response Register (RRR) validation for cash transfer.

This was made known in a statement signed and released to newsmen in the state by the Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris, noting that the campaign was meant to create awareness of the ongoing validation process.

According to him, the RRR code activation is to give out cash transfer being embarked on by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian, Disaster Management and Social Development in collaboration with Kogi State government.

He disclosed that over 78,000 individual successfully registered online in Kogi state, as validation process he confirmed has commenced through the phone number used for the registration.

In his words “team of enumerators are currently in the field to VALIDATE the successful beneficiary. If you receive a call on your phone please do comply by meeting them for proper documentation and capturing and further necessary action,” he said.

The beneficiaries, he added, are poor Nigerians in urban and semi-urban areas, currently not benefiting from the National Social Safety- Nets Project (NASSP) such as Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT), N-Power and others.

While urging beneficiaries to contact the coordinator of State Operations and Coordinating Unit (SOCU), Dr. Noah Alilu for further information, Hon. Asiwaju further stressed that the programme was designed to target the enrolment of those made poorer and vulnerable by the pandemic, which would be done using cell phone messaging services (SMS) technology.
