The Kogi chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has urged leaders at all levels to strive to make positive impacts in the lives of their followers and the society at large.
The Chairman of the association, Kogi chapter, Dr John Ibenu, made the call on Sunday in Lokoja, during the 27th Anniversary of The Chapel of Freedom Church Lokoja, Kogi.
Ibenu said leaders should try to impact positively in the lives of the people world over, especially those in charge of people’s collective wealth.
“The world is our parish, our community is our starting point, the world of God is our tool, the love of God is our manual, use whatever you have and try to make a difference.
“Use the pillars of influence, education, business, politics, administration, arts/entertainment, media, family, and religion/faith to impact the world passivity.
“Your money, position or location, is useless if it is not used to make the world a better place and advance the cause of humanity,” Ibenu said.
He, however, reminded the people in leadership that at the end of this world, everyone would be remembered for two things, problems you caused and problems you solved.
“Remember that at the end of life and time, you will give account of your life to God who judges all actions and intent of heart.
“We have no other country but Nigeria, no other state but Kogi, and no other time but this time.
“Wherever you are and whatever you do, the best you can do is to make this nation better,” he said.
Quoting from Colosian 3:17, he said: “and whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.’’
“No man can do good, except the good God put in his heart through His Son, Jesus Christ.
“Jesus came to do good, let him come into your heart for us to have a better world. We are the one.
“We are the people, we are the one to make the world a better place, so let’s start doing something,” he said.
