A congratulatory message to the 44th Obaro of Kabba, HRM Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council.
“The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace.” – Mahatma Gandhi.
Your Majesty, in tandem with the Kogi state government’s pronouncement and the presentation of the Staff of Office to you as the 44th Obaro of Kabba, May I sincerely congratulate your majesty over your ascension to the revered and sacred throne of Owe Kingdom. May your days and reign be long your majesty.
My congratulatory message to you at this point in time is informed by two cogent reasons;
The number one being the fact that you were once a comrade and in my revolutionary Journey of active and vibrant Unionism, I am made to understand that once a comrade is always a comrade.
However sir, on the second thought I consider it most important, necessary and historical to write to you on the need to use your exalted office to build a city of Justice, Peace and love.
As a pioneer leader of the Kabba Students Union, the once upon a time, Independent, Vibrant and visionary Union, I have no doubt in your ability to transform and build Kabba to a city of Justice, Peace and love.
Your Majesty sir, there is no BETTER Time to build Kabba than NOW. It is obvious and visible to the blind and audible to deaf that all is not well with Kabba as evidenced in the present level of devastating state of underdevelopment, coupled with the fact that only a United Owe Kingdom devoid of clannish sentiments can bring about the rapid growth and development that we all seek.
I urge your majesty to be magnanimous in victory by showing malice to none and love to all thereby extending your hands of fellowship to all contenders for the Throne and all the clans and royal families that makeup Kabba, Irrespective of their race, religion, sex or clan.
The Task of building Kabba as a city of Justice, Peace and love is an enormous and Gargantuan Task no doubt but it’s a noble task that must be done.
Going Forward:
*Restoration of the Kabba Students Union ( K.S.U)
*Convocation of an Emergency security meeting.
*A royal Intervention towards the resuscitation of the Kabba microfinance bank.
The aforementioned matters deserve a favourable consideration, Sir.
The Kabba Students Union deserves to be restored to reduce the crime rate. It is an incontrovertible fact that a vibrant, visionary and Independent Kabba Students Union will reduce cultism, drug abuse, and violent crime. Hence, I appeal for your quick and prompt Intervention to see that the Union is restored with elected officials as required by the sacrosanct constitution of the Union.
There is also an urgent need for your majesty to as a matter of urgency constitute members of Security Council for Kabba using the Traditional Approach to address the growing concern of Insecurity and crime rates owing to the fact that Policing Owe land is our collective responsibility.
On a final note, your majesty the Kabba Microfinance bank needs to be restored from the present moribund status to reduce the unemployment rate of our able and energetic youths. A community fundraising dinner can be organized to raise the funds required to make the bank function again.
I pray for long life, wisdom and discretion required to make Kabba great. Once again, Congratulations to the Obaro of Kabba HRM, OBA Solomon Dele Owoniyi, the Oba Otitoleke Oweyomade 1 of Owe land.
May I humbly and most respectably appeal to all aggrieved persons and all other Owe sons and daughters home and abroad to join our Kabiyesi in building and restoring the glory of our dear Jerusalem.
– Comrade Oluwaloseyi Solomon Babaeko
Rt. Honourable Speaker, Kabba Bunu People’s Assembly.
