While in Kaduna last week, President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated road projects and other facilities executed by the state government under Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, including the Dangote Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited.

The visit took President Buhari to Zaria, Kafanchan and the capital, Kaduna, where projects were commissioned.

According statement from Kaduna State Government, the key projects include the re-modelled Murtala Muhammed Square, Infectious Disease Hospital all in Kaduna.

There is also the ultra modern Sabon Gari market in Zaria.

The list also included 19 road projects in Kaduna, Zaria and Kafanchan towns.

The most iconic of them is the Kawo flyover, which has three grand rotaries and access roads. There are other projects ongoing aside the ones commissioned by Mr President on Thursday.

Sadly, the good people of Kogi State have experienced 6 years of incompetence, mal-administration, misdirection and development stalemate under Governor Yahaya Bello. There is nothing on ground in terms of projects and infrastructure that can attract the attention and seriousness of Mr President to visit the state. A state where people now view government of the day as an institution where deceit, lies, sycophancy and unseriousness are manufactured for public consumption.

When you see a serious governor, who has capacity on his own to initiate good governance and development genuinely, you will know without being told.

I don’t know who will remind governor Yahaya Bello that good governance requires a “will”, indeed a “political will” and determination born out of the desire to render genuine service to the people.

It is most unfortunate that the governor and his team continue to suffer from horrific hallucination about governance and development, while their tenure is running fast to an end. I do not when they will wake up from their dangerous sleep.

On the whole, bad governance has a relationship or link between those who govern are those who are governed with the attendant consequences arising from decisions or indecision, actions and inaction of those trusted with powers. The impacts and consequences of bad governance are widespread enough to affect everything including a way of life.

Those who monitored or follow events as Buhari commissioned projects in Kaduna will feel the excitement and joy in his face. This is so, because he can see himself the giants stride put in place by Gov El-Rufai to achieve the lofty projects.

My Prayer:
I pray that God will empower the good people of Kogi state, spiritually, physically, morally and politically to retrieve and rescue the state back from to the current committees of failure administering our affairs disappointingly.
