Former Senator of Kogi West senatorial district, Smart Adeyemi has restated the unwavering commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari to the growth of the Nigerian economy, with a strong bias for the infrastructural sectors.

Adeyemi stated this on Thursday at the endorsement rally by the Kogi West, All Progressive Congress, APC, held at the Kabba township stadium, Kabba in Kabba/Bunu local government area of the state.

Adeyemi said he was convinced that the people of the state would vote massively for Buhari because he had shown commitment to the revamping of Ajaokuta Steel company; which was the bedrock of the economic drive of not only Kogi State but Nigeria as a whole.

According to him, the PDP government sold and destroyed Ajaokuta steel while its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was Vice President and chairman of the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) that was responsible for privatisation of government’s institutions.

The former senator also added that the Buhari administration was committed to the development of Kogi state as a railway line had been designed to pass through the state covering major part of Kogi West.

He also eulogized the approval of the Federal government for the construction of Odo Ape dam to the tune of over N400 million; which he stressed when completed will contribute meaningfully to the economic revitalization of the state

He however said his decision to contest for the senate seat was to be able to give a supporting hands to President Muhammedu Buhari executive arms in fighting corruption, revamping the economic and providing a thorough roadmap for the infrastructural development of the country.

Adeyemi said his presence at the National Assembly will likewise change the bad narrative of how Kogi West zone have been viewed in the political scene of been represented by persons of questionable character; but now availed by someone who had been proven to provide succour to the people.

He also urged the people to continue to support Governor Yahaya Bello, saying the governor had been fair and just to Kogi West senatorial district.

This is just as two former commissioners in the immediate past government, Femi Abolarinwa and Tunji Oshanisi, along with 3,252 PDP faithfuls  defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Both former commissioners attributed their decision to dumped the PDP for APC as a result of the unprecedented achievement of Governor Yahays Bello and the great personality of Senator Smart Adeyemi.

Receiving the defectors, the zonal chairman of APC in Kogi West, Ropo Asagun, urged them to join others and work for the victory of all the candidates in the next election.
