What is patriotism? We can have a thousand definitions and most based on the preempts of the individual emotional capacity, but here we would see it as the capacity to put the national goals before the individual goals or personal benefits. And as so, It is high time for patriotic Nigerians to separate wheat from chaff.
Now the next question is are the resume or resign campaigners unpatriotic, or just ignorant? Wise sayings say there are people who would hurt you or act in a certain way towards you and it is because they don’t know better, or are just playing unwisely. I will explain how Unpatriotic, Ungrateful and Ignorant they are as you keep reading;
Resume or Resign Campaigners, how Unpatriotic they are;
They are Unpatriotic for their failure to recognize the patriotism, passion, and selflessness of President Muhammadu Buhari even in his personal struggles, towards rebuilding the greater Nigeria. Buhari is not a billionaire, some of you reading this article are even richer than he is, he doesn’t own Palaces in the east, Mansions in the West, Estates in the North, malls in cities of Nigeria nor outside the shore of Nigeria. Buhari is highly revered by most Nigerians for his incorruptible track records.
We have been mishandled by the personal drive of many individuals in the time past and Nigerians deserved an incorruptible, disciplined and passionate President like Muhammadu Buhari to salvage our Country and restore the lost glory. The Campaigners should sit back and have a rethink that President Buhari is one of the most detribalized Presidents Nigeria ever had. Some mischievous Nigerians once accused him of Islamizing Nigeria, but certain preceding incidents in the Muslim  north which I wouldn’t want to delve into has proved that wrong.  President Buhari is not a religious bigot and he is detribalized as evident everywhere in terms of his appointments, governance and policies.
Resume or Resign Campaigners, how ungrateful they are;
It could be very  emotional when people seems to be ungrateful to leaders who have committed so much with utmost sacrifice to protect his people and make a better place for younger generations. Now some group of people have been so selfish to think of themselves, pockets,  flush living in the left overs we have from the economic theft from the corruptions of previous regime and not thinking about the future or our generations unborn if this economy of the greatest black nation fails. In light of this, the President is trying to build a sustainable economy and  some unpatriotic people are so naive not to see that the future of our children is better than the fattening wantonly of our cattle.
Have we forgotten so soon in the past administrations before the emergence of President Buhari, how Nigerians were living in fears daily?  Have we forgotten so soon, how terrorists capturing the nation territories and taking over local governments and major towns in North East?  Have we forgotten so soon how terrorists used to bomb Nigerians at will? Virtually on daily and weekly basis (Sundays and Fridays in at Churches and Mosques), Motor parks, market places, schools, shopping malls etc? all of these events happening right at the street closest to you?
Nigeria, in the past administrations where stealing was not a corruption, the then Nigeria we had was a country of lawlessness, violence, religious intolerance, terrorized nation, corruption at its peak, among other things.
But today, President Muhammadu Buhari came in, he saw, he conquered and still conquering. Under the Buhari APC-led administration, the big thieves beginning from top classes are presently in maximum prisons and others in custody awaiting prisons. EFCC under Buhari Administration has recovered stolen money in multi billions of Naira and other hard currencies.
Under Buhari government, the military launched Operation Lafia Doley and today, North-East and other parts of Nigeria territory has been recaptured and Nigerians now sleep with their two eyes close. The insecurity situation was so bad that the life of President Muhammadu Buhari was threatened when he escaped death as suicide bombers trailed his convoy but he escaped death prior to 2015 election. I can’t forget so soon how I escaped deaths in two bomb blasts in a popular Abuja mall (EFAB) and Nyanya Bus Stop in Abuja metropolis. Many Nigerians are not exempted, thousands have gone in untimely death situations and hundreds of Nigerians are disfigured and disabled. Today, Boko Haram terrorists are nearly and completely defeated by Operation Lafia Doley troops who have now taken over control of the Sambisa Forest.
Before the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari, Kidnappers, Militancy and armed robbery were all like daily routine in Nigeria but today it has drastically reduced by the effort of some State Governors like my Governor His Excellency Yahaya Bello who is emulating his Mentor, President Muhammadu Buhari. Governor Yahaya Bello has also established Operation Total Freedom, and recently commissioned mini military barrack (FOB) in Okene, Kogi State to intensify the fight against terrorism, armed robbery, Kidnapping among other crimes across the state. Today, Kogi State is now witnessing peace, free of terrorism, regular robbery on highways and kidnapping.
Agricultural and infrastructural development under President Buhari is yielding results. The  school feeding programs as well as MSME Clinics are presently ongoing across the state gradually. Electricity has improved and efforts to achieve 24hours power supplies in Nigeria through enforcement of free meter for every home is presently ongoing also.
Finally, Resume or Resign Campaigners, How ignorant they are:
To start with, that President Muhammadu Buhari is our president today doesn’t affect his private life as an individual. Nobody is ever immune to sickness if God permits the sickness. But it is laughable and highly ridiculous for some ignorant individuals to compare his absence with late President Yar’Adua (May his gentle soul rest in peace. Amin). Still I can state that I am not against protest against President Buhari and this is because even the prophets of old according to our religion holy books, were rejected by their fellow keens, as do we in many different cases in our personal lives. This is also coming of the shoot that there is a possibility of the opposition sponsoring these activities.
Late President Yar’Adua scenario; On November 23rd, 2009, Nigeria’s President Yar’Adua was rushed to Saudi Arabia for a medical emergency. It was later revealed that he had pericarditis, a hardening of the lining around the heart. His absence from Nigeria and a lack of forthcoming information on his condition or when he would return, created a power vacuum. An interpretation of the Constitution suggested that a formal letter from the President was necessary to temporarily transfer powers to the Vice President. This interpretation left the Vice President seemingly powerless to use executive powers and some citizens in outrage over the ensuing political confusion for over 75 days which led some notable Nigerians like Wole Soyinka and others protested the transfer of powers to the then Vice President Goodluck Jonathan.
But in this case, the reverse is the case. The President from the day he was leaving the country, he transfered powers to the Vice President Osinbajo and made him the acting President.
The Acting President has been presiding over National and Federal Executive Councils and exercise all other presidential powers.
In the light of the above, President Muhammadu Buhari never breached the law. And His Excellency, the Acting President of Nigeria Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has been authorized fully to exercise Presidential powers in absent of President Buhari on health ground. Meanwhile as God will have it, the President is recuperating fast and he will be back to continue piloting the affairs of the nation and that is until his Doctor clears him to return as stated in the letter sent to the Senate before he jetted out.
Now tell me, what is the meaning of Resume or Resign Campaign?
Or if rephrased, if it doesn’t have a meaning, what could be its purpose? I kindly and humbly implore the Campaigners that wisdom, and understanding is profitable to direct.
