Former Kogi State governor and leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Prince Abubakar Audu, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari has brought back Nigeria’s goodwill.
Audu said this in Abuja while addressing media men immediately after the President and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, were sworn in at the Eagle Square on Friday, where he compared the turnout to that of Nelson Mandela’s inauguration in 1994.
The former governor said the large contingent of world leaders, USA, Europe and Africa that graced the occasion was a testimony that Nigeria is now respected across the globe.
He described President Buhari as an embodiment of morality and integrity, which has earned him a lot of respect both inside and outside the shores of the country over the years.
“Buhari’s anti-corruption stand will go a long way in moving the country to greatness,” Audu said.
The president‘s inaugural speech has set a new agenda for Nigeria and Africa in general.
“President Buhari’s inaugural speech lifted the spirit and give hope to millions of country men, the speech was simple, focused and direct, ” he said.
He appealed to Nigerians to support the new government, saying President Buhari and his vice president were adequately prepared for the task ahead.
“The recent election of former agric minister Akinwumi Adesina as President of Africa Development Bank (AfDB) is a sign that Nigeria is back as a leader in World affairs, this happened courtesy of Mr President’s earlier intervention,” he added.
