The Audu/Faleke Political Organization has described the late Deputy Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Arc. Buba Jibril as a principled and disciplined politician whose interest at all times was the progress and development of Kogi State.
A statement signed by the leader of the group, Hon James Abiodun Faleke said the death of Buba is a pill too bitter to swallow for the group.
He recalled Buba’s role in the post-2015 Kogi governorship election fight for justice, describing him as a dependable leader.
“News got to me this morning of the transition to the great beyond of my friend, my brother, my associate, Hon(Arc) Buba Umar Jibril, member representing Lokoja/Koton-Karfi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. I remain transfixed, shocked and dazed unable to comprehend why death would choose to snatch away good people when they are needed most by the people they serve.
“Hon Buba’s death is a bitter pill to swallow for my family and I, for the Audu/Faleke Political Organization, his constituents, the National Assembly, Kogi State and indeed the entire nation.
“He was such a honest, principled and disciplined politician whose interest at all times was the progress and development of Kogi State. He would sacrifice his personal comfort to realise ends aimed at the greater good of his people. He was a philanthropist extraordinaire.
“How could I ever forget the heroic role you played fighting for justice all through the 2015 electoral saga in Kogi State. You shunned the lure of filthy lucre and stood resolutely on the side of the majority of Kogites who believe that the Audu/Faleke Group was robbed of the Governorship position in  the State. You never waivered for a second! You held on as a good soldier of conscience till the end, never betraying the trust of the people you faithfully led. Nigeria has indeed lost one of her leading lights,” he said.
