The Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Ankpa 1 State Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has received the declaration of the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello to run for a second tenure with excitement, describing it as “A timely call to serve the people of Kogi State better”.
According to him, it was an opportunity for Kogites and people of Kogi East to re-align with the APC and the government of Gov. Bello to achieve their expectations as far as Kogi project is concerned.
He said, “The decision of the Governor to declare his ambition for second term has been long expected, and we are happy he has finally let the cat out of the bag. We would give more support now than ever before, without sentiment considering what he has done and what he will still do to show he cares for the people.
He listed some of the projects executed by the administration of Yahaya Bello which includes; rehabilitation of Ankpa township road, rehabilitation of Kabba township road, rehabilitation of Ibana junction, Ikeje-Ibana Ogugu Ete road, Idah Water Works, Kabba Water Works, Okene Water Works, rehabilitation of Ankpa-Abejukolo road, rehabilitation of Shintaku-Dekina road, Abejukolo electrification project, electrification project in Koton-Karfe, rural electrification project in Agassa, rural electrification project in Ogori, construction of Onyedega Odike road Ibaji among several others.
“In the area of education, the Governor has made progressive impact by building GYB model School across 29 Wards of Kogi State, remodeling of legacy schools, reconstruction of ministry of education, construction of Library at Kogi State College of Education Kabba, construction of hostel at GSS, Obangede, among others.”
The Deputy Majority Leader called on Kogi state citizens on their own part to give GYB more time by voting him for second tenure so as to enable him give the state necessary change the state deserve.
“There is need to developed the state from a civil servant state to a commercial hub where businesses will be given conducive environment to thrive. Kogi state as a state is too blessed with enormous natural and human resources to remain a civil servant state. God knows why He enthroned Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello as Governor of Kogi State, He was anointed by God for a purpose to redirect Kogi State on the path of greatness, a paradigm shift from the stale ways of running a corrupt tribalized Government centered around ethnic sentiment”, he said.
