Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has commended Kabba community for selecting Obaro of Kabba, saying he found the selection impeccable.
Bello spoke Wednesday, when the community visited him at his country home in Okene to express their appreciation for the government approval of Solomon Owoniyi as the oba-elect for the community.
Owoniyi also doubles as the Chairman of Okun Traditional Council— the Yoruba-speaking people of Kogi State.
The governor also maintained that his administration would continue to follow due process in appointing traditional rulers to pave way for peace in the state, saying “I urged the Obaro-elect to use his experience as a civil servant to weave Kabba people together as one indivisible entity for the development of the land.”
Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, who led the community for the visit, commended the governor for allowing the people to select the candidate of their choice, pledging the support and cooperation of the community to the state government.
