Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi says he has approved the release of N10 million to the family of late Mrs Oludolapo Ahile, a former Kogi NYSC Coordinator who died on May 17.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Mrs. Ahile and her husband were involved in a road accident along Keffi-Akwanga-Lafia highway in Nassarawa State. The critically injured woman died on May 17.

Bello disclosed this at the closing ceremony of the orientation camp for the 2019 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Batch ‘B’ Stream 1,  at Asaya, Kabba, Kogi.

Bello represented by the state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Sani Ogu-Salisu, said this while addressing the 2,015 corps members deployed to the state.

The governor said the sum of N10 million would be given to the family of the late coordinator through her husband, Mr Michael Ahile for the welfare of her children.

Bello said that Mrs Ahile’s demise was a great loss not only to her family and the state, but Nigeria as a whole, given her invaluable contributions to Kogi State and the nation at large.

He described the late Mrs Ahile as the typical model of a patriotic citizen, the phenomenal expression of an egalitarian leader, a bosom public officer and the true definition of first generation Nigerian.

He said that the legacies of late Mrs Ahile in Kogi State would forever remain indelible in their hearts.

The governor pledged to hasten the completion of the ongoing camp renovations as a mark of honour for the late coordinator.
