Barr. Ladi Jatto Empowers Widows, Youths in Kogi

Kogi State Project Coordinator Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) and Special Adviser to the Governor on Multilateral and Donor Agencies, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jato has called for closer collaboration between government appointees and the people.

Barr Ladi made the call in Okene on Tuesday during her community intervention programme. She donated a motorized borehole and also empowered widows in her community with start up capital for their businesses.

She also donated a motorcycle to the youth leader of her community with a call on youths to refrain from violence before, during and after the forthcoming Kogi state governorship election.

The NEWMAP boss explained that government alone cannot do all for the people and appealed for intervention from all and sundry.

She appealed to those privileged to occupy political office and others men and women of goodwill to extend hands of fellowship to the people towards bridging development gaps. She described the efforts of government at meeting the needs of her citizens as becoming complex and tedious on a daily basis.

The Project Coordinator praised the administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello for its efforts at creating a conducive environment, through improved security, providing micro credit and other incentives, that has helped bridged socio economic gaps in the state.

Barr. Ladi assured that she would continue to make the welfare of the people a priority, adding that it is not in the quantity, but urged the people to see through the intention, so as to encourage other well meaning individuals to give a helping hands.

Speaking at the occasion, the Administrator of Okene LGA, Hon. Mohammed Abdulrazaq and Hon. Yahaya Karaku described the gesture by Barr. Ladi Jato as no mean feat, lauded the magnanimity.

The duo urged the beneficiaries of the empowerment items and cash to make judicious use of the opportunity, solicited the peaceful support of the people ahead the forthcoming November governorship election.
