The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Mr. Yomi Awoniyi, has said that the state government intends to use its expected N10bn bailout from the Federal Government to offset salaries owed workers and improve the well-being of its citizens in other critical sectors.
He also assured local government workers in the state of the payment of the balance of all their outstanding salaries in a short time.
He said the state government was committed to ensuring improvement in the welfare and standard of living of all the workers in the state.
He spoke on Monday during a consultative visit to Odo Eri, Yagba West LGA.
The deputy governor said the bailout being expected in the next few days, would be committed to clearing the backlog of salary arrears.
He stated that the machinery had been put in place to look into issues affecting the sacking of local government workers employed in 2010 across the state.
