Youths of Bunu Communities, in Kabba- Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State have been assured of gainful employment when the Alape Staple Crop Processing Zone becomes operational.
Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor gave the assurance, when he received in audience, Bunu PDP youths in his office.
Awoniyi, called on the youths to serve as vanguard in protecting the multi-billion naira investment when it becomes operational, said aside the advantages of employment, the socio-economic life of the area will be transformed.
Awoniyi, disclosed that the Bunu communities would be the first line of beneficiaries of the Alape Staple Crop Processing Zone, urged them to remain patient amidst several challenges that they may face as the processing zone is soon to take off.
The Deputy Governor expressed gratitude that the Federal Government and Alhaji Aliko Dangote are at the final stage for the commencement of work on the Obajana to Kabba road.
Awoniyi, promised to take the request for the repairs of other roads in Bunu district to the attention of Governor Idris Wada,
solicited their patience and understanding, noting that the State is battling to affect all sectors of the State economy amidst dwindling financial resources from the Federation Account.
Earlier in his remarks, Hon. Nathaniel Taiwo, Member Representing Kabba Bunu in the Kogi State House of Assembly, said efforts at
electrification and provision of water to Bunu areas of the Local Government Area has become necessary in view of the hardship been faced by the people, solicited the assistance of the state government.
Spokesperson of the group, Mr. Kingsley Femi, called on the State Government to repair the road in Kiri land as the famous Giro hill is no longer passable.
Mr. Kingsley while commending the Federal and State Government for locating the Alape Staple Crop Processing Zone in Bunu land, solicited the attention of Government in other areas that will make life meaningful to the people.
The visit was attended by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Kayode Olowomoran, who appreciated the concern for youths the administration of Capt Idris Wada has shown in making their empowerment issue a priority.
