A former member, House of Representatives (Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu), Hon. Duro Meseko, has expressed his interest to contest for the position of the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Meseko, who is the spokesperson of the influential Audu-Faleke political family that upstaged the incumbent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State during the 2015 governorship election, joined other aspirants in the race when he came to pick his nomination form at the National Convention Secretariat at Apo Legislative Quarters, in Abuja, on Friday.
He pledged to further the gains of APC through robust defence and management of the corporate image of the party at all times.
“I recognize what our party needs right now. I know this because of the unique combination of skills and experience God has graciously bestowed on me.
“By training, I am a professional journalist, in work experience, I have been a strategic communications, crisis management and public relations specialist. Decades of experience in these vital areas have served me and many assignments well, and I know it will serve our party well.
“There is no gain saying the fact that as a ruling party with a strong opposition breathing down its neck, we can least afford the luxury of not putting a round peg in a round hole in our publicity unit, especially during this critical moment that the nation is transiting into election season proper,” he said.

The National Publicity Secretary position has been zoned to North Central zone
