A group of youths under the auspices of Gbede Good Governance Advocates (3GA) has cautioned the House of Representatives member elect on the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Architect Salman Idris, not to overspend his goodwill by imposing the ADC House of Assembly candidate on Ijumu people.
In a press statement signed by the publicity secretary of the group, Olamide Joshua, the group alleged that the new rep member elect is trying to overstretch his goodwill by attempting to impose Dr Tokunbo Alaga on Ijumu electorate which is not going down well with the people.
“We mobilised support for Architect Salman for fairness, justice and equity to reign in the federal constituency. He must now be careful not to overstretch his goodwill as we will not allow him to impose the candidate of his party, Tokunbo Alaga on us.
“Ekinrin-Adde has had it own fair share in Omofaiye who is now a commissioner and he is also the immediate past member representing Ijumu in the state assembly. Why then will Architect Salman be advocating for another candidate of Ekinrin-Adde extraction?
“We understand he has been holding nocturnal meetings to pave way for his candidate. Architect Salman is advised to allow the will of the people to prevail,” the group said.
The group called on the electorate to go ahead and prove to the world that Ijumu stands for fairness and equity on Saturday.
They urged the people to go out and exercise their franchise during the state assembly polls with decorum and decency Ijumu is known for.
