One of the aspirants from Okekoko ward, Hon. Motunrayo Idowu Olonikadi, aka MJ, announced that she was stepping down for Hon. Bank Andrew Omonisaiye.

Olonikadi promised to work assiduously for the party towards a resounding victory in 2027.

The party leader, Hon. Adebanji Jimoh, who was instrumental to the peace accord, commended Olonokadi for maturity and commitment to APC.

“What happened today is not new in Okekoko ward. We are all great party men and women working towards the same goal and objectives of bringing victory to our party – APC in the forthcoming election. Therefore, it is not a win – lose situation. Rather, it is victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC), especially as 2027 general election is fast approaching,” he said.

At the end of the ward meeting, all Okekoko ward stakeholders vowed to work for a resounding victory for the party in 2027.

Recalled that after several hours of brainstorming, the party leaders restricted the House of Assembly seat to Zone A comprising of Okekoko, Asuta, Odo- Akete/ Bolorunduro wards.

Due to political exigency and the need for fairness, Odo- Akete/ Bolorunduro ward was excused, paving the way for the other two wards to slug it out.
