Hundreds of youths from Kogi state yesterday gathered at the Head office of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC demanding the arrest of Former Governor Ibrahim Idris over corruption allegations during is Eight years administration.

The protesting youths under the Kogi Liberation Fronts (KLF) and Kogi Progressive Youths Forum (KPYF) called on the EFCC and other  anti corruption agencies to investigate corruption allegations against the administration the former governor Idris.

“No anti corruption agency not even the EFCC has deemed it necessary to invite former Governor Ibrahim Idris for questioning despite numerous allegations of corruption leveled against him.

“But we have  lost the number of times this same EFCC has invited and interrogated former Governor, Prince Abubakar Audu over alleged corruption charges,” KPYF chairman Emmanuel Okpanachi said.

He appeal to the EFCC to help the state ensure that Idris return all stolen state money, properties and assets illegally and corruptly acquired during his  tenure.

“Before now, anti corruption groups in the state has filed a suit at the High Court of Justice in Lokoja against former Ibrahim Idris, for allegedly embezzling N56 billion while in office, the case could not see the light of the day because the PDP governments has been pro corruption,” Okpanachi said.

Okpanachi said the groups are ready to provide any anti corruption agency with facts, evidence  that Kogi state was milked dry by Former Governor Idris.

“We are also documenting fraudulent activities ongoing in the present Governor Wada’s administration because our state has been crippled since Ibro forced his incompetent son in law on the state,” he told newsmen

While calling on the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to give room for a level playing ground in choosing its candidate for the next election, Okpanachi said “its should by now be clear that the PDP cannot retain the state with Captain Wada’s candidacy.”

Time for EFCC to probe Former Governor Idris Ibrahim Eight years, Eight months administration.

Text of Kogi Liberation Fronts demands at a peaceful protest at the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, 14th July 2015.

Gentle men and ladies, we are here today to demand that the EFCC and indeed all anti corruption agencies beam their light on the administration of our former governor Idris Ibrahim ‘Ibro’ years in Lurgard house.

Ibrahim Idris, who allegedly frittered the state’s resources and govern with reckless, till date, no anti corruption agency not even the EFCC has deemed it necessary to invite former Governor Ibrahim Idris for questioning.

But I’ve sincerely lost the number of times this same EFCC has invited and interrogated former Governor, Prince Abubakar Audu over alleged corruption charges.

We expect the same EFCC to beam their searchlight on former governor Idris of the state, who enriched himself and political associates  with Kogi tax payers’ money.

Before now anti corruption groups in our state has filed a suit at the High Court of Justice in Lokoja against former Ibrahim Idris, for allegedly embezzling N56 billion while in office, the case could not see the light of the day because the PDP governments has been pro corruption.

This claim must be investigated. It must be NOW!

Now that the EFCC is back on its feat! Kogi state must also recover all illegally acquired government property by former governor Idris.

Let remind you that the eight years and eight months used by Ibrahim Idris as our governor was marred by flagrantly misgoverning;  looting of treasury with impunity in conjunction with his son-in-law, Capt. Idris Wada and other unscrupulous persons to inflicted untold hardship, misery, poverty, penury and suffering on the helpless people of our state.

The EFCC must help us to ensure Idris returns to the Kogi State Government and the people all stolen state money, properties and assets illegally and corruptly acquired during the  tenure of Ibro.

We as a group is ready to provide any anti corruption agency with facts, evidence that Kogi state was milked dry by Former Governor Idris.

We are also documenting fraudulent activities ongoing in the present Governor Wada’s administration.

Our state has been crippled since Ibro force his incompetent son in law on the state.

We advice the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to give room for a level playing ground in choosing its candidate for the next election.

Its should by now be clear that the PDP cannot retain the state with Captain Wada’s candidacy.

Its only our wish that the state government will support our moves in recovering our collective wealth stolen by the previous government.
