Arome Adoji Assures Ofu People of Dividend of Democracy

…urges support for Gov. Bello’s administration

Kogi State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Comrade Arome Adoji has assured the people of Ofu Local Government Area of the state of adequate distribution of democracy dividend to the area.

The Commissioner who was received by large crowd of political supporters, friends and colleagues gave the assurance while holding a town hall meeting with the people on the 5th of July, 2016 at Okulla-Aloma.

In his words, “I am here to today to thank you all for your support and prayers for me as one of your sons that have been found worthy and recognised by Gov yahaya Bello to serve in his cabinet as Honourable Commissioner and to also put heads together in our support for the present administration to get what belongs to the people of Ofu LGA.

“Since 2003 after the exit of late Prince Abubakar Audu, Ofu has been in total neglect infrastructural wise. We have the worse case of roads, healthcare services, electricity and other basic amenities in Kogi State. Rehabilitation of Anyigba-Idah road which has been abandoned since 2010 was a clear indication how past government marginalise the people of Ofu.

“Our Royal Fathers present here, sons and daughters of Ofu, these problem of decayed infrastructure have been compiled and are before the governor of kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello at the moment for his action. I can assure you here that in a very few months from now, most of the infrastructural challenges in Ofu will be addressed”. “I urged you to support the man who doesn’t care where you come from or which religion faith you belong but care about moving the state forward in his New Direction policy”.

Comrade Adoji also took time to explain to the people the current financial position of the state, the ongoing workers’ verification exercise and urged the civil servants to be patient with the governor, noting that Bello’s NewDirection policy was tailored to alleviate the suffering of the rural people.

Reaffirming the commitment of Gov Bello to address infrastructural problem of Ofu LGA, the Administrator of the council, Hon Abu Egbiti said Bello has taken feasibility study of the area, noting that political liberation moment of Ofu has come. While thanking the staff of his council for their patient over the verification exercise, Hon Egbiti said at the end of the screening, welfare of workers must have been improved drastically while saving the council and the state fund for infrastructure development.

Speaking also, Mr Ameh Itodo from Ejule-Alla ward thanked the governor for finding their son worthy to serve in his cabinet as commissioner. He said the people of Ofu have suffered for too long and had no other choice than supporting gov Yahaya Bello to succeed. Mr Tijani Abu from Ejule lauded the governor’s doggedness and determination to sanitise the civil service system, urged him to remained courageous in the face of the enemies of the state.

Comrade Adoji who was accompanied by the commissioner for Transport, Hon Salisu Sani Ogu and other personalities were received by friends, politicians, students’ groups, women and well-wishers.
