The Nigerian Army said troops of the 12 Brigade have recorded significant successes in Kogi State, neutralising a terrorist and arresting suspected logistics couriers.
An operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday said the troops, acting on credible intelligence, intensified checkpoint and clearance operations across parts of Lokoja Local Government Area. It stated that troops deployed along the Jamata–Owara axis intercepted and arrested a suspected terrorist logistics courier conveying supplies on a motorcycle.
According to the report, a search on the suspect led to the discovery of a modified fuel tank designed to conceal ammunition, as well as three mobile phones and a purchase receipt.

“Further exploitation of intelligence obtained from the suspect led troops to a suspected logistics exchange point.
“During the encounter, troops engaged fleeing terrorists, neutralising one, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
“Items recovered from the scene include a motorcycle, a pump-action belt with cartridges, charms, drinks, a mobile phone, a side bag, and N20,000 cash,” the report said.
