The Acting Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman has called on people of the state to bury partisan and primordial sentiments in the interest of the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Rector described the Court of Appeal judgment affirming the second term electoral victory of Governor Yahaya Bello as a further testimony to the overwhelming mandate willingly given to the Governor by the good people of Kogi State.

“On behalf of the Academic Board, Management, staff and students of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, I wish to heartily and warmly congratulate His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya, Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State on the affirmation of his second term mandate by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja.

“The judgment by the Appellate Court which affirmed the earlier verdict of theĀ  Electoral Tribunal against the petitions filed by four different political parties is a further testimony to the overwhelming mandate willingly given to His Excellency by the good people of Kogi State.

“Your Excellency, Sir, while we celebrate the affirmation of your democratic and divinely oriented mandate, we are convinced that the series of victories that you have continued to record in and out of the Temple of Justice will usher in more socio-economic victories for the State under your able leadership.

“It is our hope that, with the well-deserved victories, all partisan and premordial interests are buried by all sundries in the interest of the common good of theĀ  State.

“We will continue to give you all the support required to make your equitable, transparent, detribalised, accountable, competent and committed leadership a model for future generations of leadership in the State.
Once again, Your Excellency, accept the hearty felicitations of Kogi State Polytechnic and my kind personal elation on your landmark victories at the Appellate Court,” the statement read.
