Former member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Sunday Karimi has picked the ticket of the All Progressives Congress for Kogi West senatorial district.
Announcing the result, the returning officer, Abubakar Bashir Gegu announced that the winner of the election, Karimi polled 288 votes, and Aina Olumuyiwa Olasunkanmi came behind him with 73 votes.
Senator Smart Adeyemi polled 43 votes while Isah Abdulkarim got 9 votes, with the only female contestant, Adedoyin Ibikunle polling 1 vote.
The returning officer, Bashir Gegu described the election as peaceful and transparent.
The primary election held in Kabba on Saturday.
