APC Gov’ship Primary: Fatima Buba Congratulates Usman Ododo Over Court Victory

Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba has congratulated the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Usman Ahmed Ododo for his victory at the Federal High Court Abuja.

In a statement she personally signed on Thursday, the Commissioner said the verdict of the court is a clear confirmation that APC is already coasting to victory in the November governorship election.

Buba averred that the judgement further cement the ground of APC candidate and the entire party family in Kogi State, as it vindicated the party choice of a man whose impact has been felt across the globe.

She stressed that Kogites have graciously embraced APC because of the good work of Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.

The Commissioner described Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo as a golden fish which should be allowed to consolidate on the good mandate of the current administration.

According to her, the November 11 governorship election is already a walk over for the APC, as the party is more united to deliver for his candidate at the polls.

Buba further explained that those ranting that APC is divided in Kogi State because of its choice of candidate should have a rethink, stressing that the defection of large party members from other political parties into APC is making opposition to have a rethink that their no place for them in Lugard house.

“Oppositions are already scared because of the overwhelming support and fame of Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo. The verdict of the Court in Abuja dismissing the case of one of the aspirants in April APC primary in Kogi State is a welcome development and highly laudable.

“It is a call for more work for our candidate who is the hope of many Kogites to continue with the remarkable and developmental agenda of the APC Government in Kogi State. None of the candidate contesting the forthcoming election can match with our candidate Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo the chosen one of our time. As for me, APC is a goal in November,” she stated.

The Commissioner, however, stated that she is already mobilizing hundred of thousands of women in across the 21 local governments of Kogi State to campaign for Ododo and ensure that victory is secured for the party in the next governorship election.

Recall that a Federal High Court in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja dismissed a suit filed by an aspirant in the All Progressives Congress’ governorship primaries in Kogi State, Senator Smart Adeyemi, against the emergence of the candidate of the party, Usman Ododo, saying it lacks merit.

Delivering judgement in the suit marked “FHC/CS/556/2023 Smart Adeyemi v. APC & 2 Ors”, on Wednesday, Justice J.K. Omotosho held that Adeyemi’s allegations were criminal in nature, as he alleged that elections did not hold and that the produced results were forged.

Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, a former Auditor General for Local Governments in Kogi State, emerged the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election held in April 2023.

Ododo, who scored a total of 78,704 votes, won the direct primary election with a wide margin to defeat six other contestants in the governorship race.
