The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, has lauded Kogi State Governor, Alh. Usman Ododo, for his commitment to education, citing recent approvals for major infrastructure projects and student support initiatives at Kogi State University.
Governor Ododo has approved a staggering ₦8 billion for the construction of a senate building, faculty of science, and both male and female hostels at the institution. This significant investment is expected to significantly improve the learning environment and accommodate the growing student population.
In addition to this infrastructure development, the governor has also approved ₦316 million for a bursary award to benefit 8,750 students. This financial assistance will undoubtedly ease the financial burden on many students, allowing them to focus on their studies.
Furthermore, Governor Ododo has awarded ₦5 million to a Kogi State student who secured the prestigious ERASMUS+ Scholarship to study in Poland.
This gesture, he said, is a testament to the governor’s dedication to fostering academic excellence and providing opportunities for the state’s brightest minds.
The APC spokesperson described these initiatives as “monumental and unprecedented,” highlighting their positive impact on the education sector in Kogi State. He expressed confidence that these investments will contribute to the overall development of the university and empower future generations.
