APC Chairman Assures Kogi West Senate Aspirant of Level Playing Field

Chairman Kogi State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Bello has reaffirmed the party’s  commitment to conducting a free, fair and credible election in the forthcoming party primaries in the state.
Abdullahi disclosed this on Monday at the party secretariat while receiving Kogi West Senatorial aspirant, Dr Williams Toyin Akenle in his office in Lokoja.
He explained that the decision reached by the State Working Committee of the party, under his leadership, to conduct free fair and credible primaries was for the interest, integrity and peaceful coexistence of the aspirants so that level playing ground can be provided to all.
The Chairman appealed to all aspirants who are seeking to fly the flag of the party to embrace peace in their campaign. He assured that the party does not have an anointed candidate.
“The party is out for free and fair primaries. There is no government or anointed candidate. We will support all the aspirants as the party is determined to allow a level playing ground.
“With direct primaries, there will be no anointed candidates,” he said.
He described Akanle as a patriotic Nigerian who served the nation with distinction.
Earlier, Dr Akanle informed the Chairman that they were in the Secretariat to submit his intent letter to the party ahead of party  primaries.
“I am here this morning with members of central working committee of my campaign to submit my letter of intent to contest for Kogi West Senatorial seat under the platform of our great party APC.”
He commended the Chairman for his commitments towards uniting the party members, adding that the humility demonstrated since he assumed office as the state chairman is aspiring.
The Senatorial hopeful expressed his confidence in the party under the leadership of Abdullahi Bello, stressing that he is optimistic that the party will conduct free, fair and credible primaries as assured by the party chairman.
The brief ceremony was attended by the Director General of Akanke Campaign Organization, Prince Dayo Akamode, Coordinators of Team Akanle from Lokoja 1 and 2 among others.
