Kogi State Chapter of APC Aspirants Forum has expressed regret over the death of the mother of Kogi State Governor, Hajiya Hawawu Bello who died on Sunday in an illness aged 101.
A press statement signed for the forum by its Publicity Secretary, Adamu Idris Atola which was made available to the journalists in Lokoja described the death as the loss of one of the most important unit of a family set up.
The painful death, the forum added, gains significance in view of the sterling roles the deceased played in the life of Governor Yahaya Bello while she was alive and said the entire forum and the APC family is pained by the death.
While praying Allah to grant the soul of Hajiya Hawawu eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus, the forum prayed for fortitude for the immediate and extended family and the people of the state to bear the regrettable loss.
The statement partly reads; “Governor Bello is one of us and so, he is not the only one mourning the death of Mama. We are with him as a family belonging to one political affinity. Even the National body of the party shares in this sad moment in our dear state.”
It noted that Mama’s ceaseless prayers were evident in the life of the Governor who has successfully turned things around for the better for Kogi State, said even in her physical absence, her spirit would continue to be with the government and the people of the state as Governor Bello continues to pilot affairs.
The forum therefore said it has mobilised all of its members across the state to pray for the first family while calling on the citizens of the state to also remember Mama in their prayers.
