Anyigba Youth Peace Summit Holds April 4

The much anticipated Anyigba Youth Peace Summit, organised by Anyigba Progressive Forum Abuja will hold on April, 4, 2021 at the Igala Unity Hall in Anyigba by 3pm.

In a statement sent to Kogi Reports by Sule Isa Akagwu, the summit is a mini interactive session to chart a way forward for an everlasting peace in Anyigba, redeem the image of the community and create enabling environment for investors.

According to Akagwu, “the summit shall appraise the activities of our illustrious sons and daughters that has contributed and still contributing to the growth and development of our home.”

Background

Ànyìgbá was founded by the sons of Àámẹ́ Òhíégáà. Àámẹ́ Òhiéga himself was a prince of the central Royalty at Ídáh, being the son of Ìtódóò Àdugà, one of the grand-sons of Àtá Ayẹ̀gbà Ọma Ìdoko. 

Our Location

ANYIGBA is a nerve center of political and Socio-economy activities of Igala Nation and the town is bounded by Ologba to the North, Agbeji to the South, Egume to the East and Ajiolo to the West. 

Our Occupation

Agriculture used to be the main occupation of the people of the town because it’s blessed with vast arable land. The town has a tropical climatic condition of raining and dry season with wooded Savannah vegetation. 

Our Tourist Attractions

Among the tourist attraction in Anyigba town is the Kogi State University, Igala Unity Square, the green vegetations at Oko Lilee, Aji abuuja (the natural spring water that separated the disputed land that would have engulfed families) Igala Unity Hall and Anyigba Dam. 

Our Hospitality

Igala is the major language spoken, as a result of our love, hospitality and economic prowess in the early sixties till date, we accommodate  other nationality include Bassa Nge, Bassa Kwomu, Ebira, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Idoma, Igede, Agatu, Tivs and even Ghanaians.

Our Industries

Our industries includes Anyigba Market, Anyigba Timber Shade, Dantelle Oil Mill, Farm Produce of commercial quantity (Cashew, Palm Carnel, Timber, Cassaver, Corn, etc) 

Our Shortcomings

It is worrisome that the love and affection that has been the character and hallmark of typical Anyigba indigene and youth is gradually eluding us as a result of the following:

i.  Idleness 
ii. Lack of Morality, 
iii.  Youth Desperation, 
iv. Lack of forgiveness, 
v. Poor Political Enlightenment, 
vi. Half baked education acquisition.

Our Objectives

i.  This summit is a mini interactive session to chart a way forward for an everlasting peace in our hometown.
ii.  To create enabling environment for investors.
iii. To redeem the image of our hometown.
iv. The summit shall appraise the activities of our illustrious sons and daughters that has contributed and still contributing to the growth and development of our home. 

Your Contribution

We should endeavor to talk to ourselves, show love to each other and pray for the restoration of our lost glory. We should collectively put to shame the antics of those that has been perpetually plant the seed of discourse and distraction among us. We should forgive ourselves, not because they deserved it, just because of God Almighty. Indeed your presence speaks volume.
