The elders and stakeholders arising from a meeting of the Ankpa District Development Union (ADDU) unanimously threw its weight behind member representing Ankpa 1 state constituency, Honourable Ahmed Mohammed for the good work he is doing.
The stakeholders meeting, which was held on Monday 4th September 2017 at the Onuh Ankpa palace, was presided over by the Onuh Ankpa, Alhaji AbdulMalik Umar also highlighted some of the key achievements of Hon. Ahmed Mohammed within the past one year which include; his flag-off of one of the most biggest water project so far in the history of Kogi State being embark upon by a legislator, which is tagged “Operation Water for all”. Water for all targets provision of motorized borehole to about 23 communities, award of scholarship to students, rehabilitation of schools, his skill acquisition and entrepreneurship scheme that is taking the youths off the streets, among others, called for the passage of a vote of confidence on him.
The Onu Ankpa, Chief Abdulmalik Umar commended him for strengthening the bond of unity, by carrying everybody along irrespective of party, fostering the spirit of oneness, enhancing development and promoting good governance in Ankpa LGA and more importantly his vibrancy on the floor of the House – his vital motions calling on the state government to construct Ankpa township road that is totally dilapidated, calling on the state government to rehabilitate, equip and ensure efficient functioning of vocational and technical colleges in Kogi State, motion on insecurity in the state which yielded positive results, a call on the government to fix the zonal hospitals and make them efficient, functional and accessible to the people, and other vital motions that has direct impact on the people.
Speaking at the event, an elder statesman, Alhaji Abdullahi Husseini acknowledged his selfless service and invaluable contributions describing him as a wonderful servant to the people. He scored Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, high on performance, describing him as “a man not given to frivolity or disloyalty.
“He is doing a spectacular job. We must commend him for his ability and we are very satisfied with your performance in less than two years”. Given the achievements you have recorded so far, I want to second the vote of confidence on your administration and to let you know that we are with you anyway, anytime”, he said.
Addressing the leaders and elders after the vote of confidence, the Deputy Majority Leader said he appreciates their support, love and prayers and assures them of his support.
“I swore an oath to represent my people and that is one I must do to the best of my ability. The resources that is meant for Ankpa 1 must work for Ankpa people. I thank you for always being there for me and Insha Allah I shall not let you down”, he said.
The Onuh Ankpa also led his delegation to Angwa Okpakpala (Mission street) where he commissioned one of the water project executed by Hon. Ahmed Mohammed.
