Dear Delegates,

I am choosing this avenue as one of the many different avenues to reach you, I hope this open letter will serve its purpose.

60% of delegates in Kogi State can read and write, please take the letter as my way of reaching you individually and collectively.

My fellow delegates, this election is one of the most important since the creation of the state, never in our history do we have delegates who have a critical role to play than you have at the moment. Being a delegate history have shifted the responsibility of molding Kogi State directly in to your hands.

If we eventually have an indirect primary, almost 4000 delegates from Kogi State will be participating in the fourth coming primaries.

Delegates of Kogi State, we should not be the Judas of Kogi State, we should not betray ourselves, we should not betray our children, we should not betray our family and should not betray the future.

Yes! There is money to be made but do not be like Judas Iscariot who hung himself for a bag of coins. Even when you make money please listen to your
heart.

This forth coming primary election is not just a political question, it is an election that questions our humanity, our values, our conscience and our courage. It is about the oppressor and the oppressed, make no mistake! The government that is seeking reelection is the oppressor. The present Government is nothing but a slave master even if they pay you N5million to vote for them, you are still the oppressed!

This is the moment when you are called to be the human being that you are, this is the reason you are in politics, your short and long experience in politics is because of this very moment when a little step is a giant step of history.

Yes, politics is about interest, but we can only brood about interest when we are alive!

A government that has strangulated the masses by denying them their salaries, allowance, pension and gratuity and basic remuneration for well over 3 and half years does not demand politics of interest but politics of liberation.

A government that has disenfranchised the people by openly engaging in electoral banditry, arson, gun running, machetes, drugs and naked violence does not demand politics of interest but politics of liberation.

I assure you the next four years will be worst if we return to the status quo, you do not need a soothsayer to tell you this, if the first four years is about pauperization of the people, deep rooted hunger, underdevelopment, non-challant attitude towards salary and pensions, cheap propaganda and violent elections. Who then can tell what the next four years will look like.

A government that has the audacity to govern ruthlessly and mannerlessly in her first term which naturally begs for a second term, then what will the government do in a second term without fear or favor of a second time? Is better Imagined.

Imagine how the world would have been better off if people like Adolf Hitler has been stopped two years into power, if people like Idi Amin has been stopped less than four years into power, the world would have been better off.

This is a government that had a cash flow of about half a trillion naira (500bn, inclusive of bailout and Paris fund) in three and half years, yet salaries, pension and gratuity are not paid, there are no tangible project to show, in four years no project was commissioned. Education and health is in comatose and poverty has taken over the state. How will this kind of government pay salaries and emolument in the next four years when there is no Paris fund or bailout again – in short in the next four years they would have bankrupt the state totally.

2016-2019 is the year of anguish and pain for the people of Kogi State, be as it may history will take its course; it might look difficult, impossible and extremely hard to do but history will not return the present government to the sit of power, do not let it be that you shall be categorize as the betrayal of the people.

One of the very hard lessons I have learnt as a politician and a thinker is that you cannot stop the hands of fate “what will be will be” Lugard house is for the taking, be on the right side of history.

To the delegates, be strong, have no fear this battle is just, it is morally right, it is politically right, it is godly. If any decent man will fight he or she must be found at this side of the fight not the other way.

We shall be with you in the hinterland, the rural areas, townships and our cities we won’t live you alone we know this is a struggle and we shall be victorious at the end of the day.

Vote out the oppressors, vote out incompetence, vote out mediocrity and vote out the corrupt!

Vote for Usman Jibrin he is the new deal! Join the movement, his antecedent goes ahead of him, he successfully brought two Naval Bases and a Navy secondary school to Okura all in Kogi State. He has shown an innovative capacity by transforming the Nigerian Navy to one of the best in Africa.

At this moment we need his experience, acumen and capacity to rescue Kogi State.
