The attention of concerned citizens of Kogi Central Senatorial District has been drawn to the persistent lack of visible development across our five local government areas — Okene, Adavi, Okehi, Ajaokuta, and Ogori/Magongo — despite the huge monthly allocations from the Federal Government.

According to verified data, the August 2025 allocations to the five local governments in Kogi Central are as follows:

Okene LGA — ₦759,903,332.76

Adavi LGA — ₦612,855,709.32

Okehi LGA — ₦611,682,560.15

Ajaokuta LGA — ₦532,013,068.70

Ogori/Magongo LGA — ₦422,366,554.20

This brings the total to ₦2.9 billion received in just one month. Yet, our investigations and on-the-ground assessments show no single visible project executed by any of the Local Government Chairmen in the past one and a half years.

This is both alarming and heartbreaking.

Let us recall the days of committed leadership when men like Late Alhaji Salihu Ohize Otaru built enduring landmarks — including two complex centres (Utukotu and opposite Jumat Mosque), Town Hall at Inike, and several health centres.
Similarly, Alhaji Karaku Jimoh constructed a complex near the prison yard, built health centres, and opened up several internal roads.
Alhaji Omuya Muhammed built a complex at Ogwu Andeba, while Hon. Ogembe Salau built a Civic Centre at Agassa Junction and rehabilitated existing health centres.

These men left tangible footprints across their communities. They served with vision, compassion, and accountability.

Today, however, what do we see?
Under the present APC-led administration, no Local Government Chairman can point to a single meaningful project. No youth empowerment scheme (like NAPEP), no employment for our teeming graduates, no functional public library, not even a basic infrastructural facelift in any ward.

Is this a government of the people or a government against the people?
Where is the spirit of service? Where is the transparency and accountability in the use of public funds?

We call on Hon. Muhammed Yusuf Yamuha and all current Chairmen in Kogi Central to come out openly and show the public at least one project they have executed or one person they have employed since assuming office.

The time for silence is over. Our people are suffering. The funds meant for grassroots development must not continue to vanish without trace.

History will not forgive those who had the chance to serve but chose to enrich themselves instead.

We, the people of Kogi Central, demand good governance — transparency, accountability, and development in our local governments.

Enough is enough
