Amb Terkimbi Terry to Launch Creative Summit, Film Fiesta in Benue

Founder/CEO of Gafiligadoki Communication, G-Films Academy, and Deputy Director of Tourism Volunteer Network, Amb. Nyam Terkimbi Terry, set to launch Creative Summit MACA International Film Festival in Benue State.

The Creative expert who met with stakeholders in Benue State yesterday to discuss plans for the upcoming, revealed that the landmark event will commence from 21st of March to 16th of July 2025

Amb. Terkimbi Terry stressed that the event is targeted towards promoting the creative industry in Benue State, providing a platform for local creatives to learn, network, and showcase their talents.

Terry, who hails from Benue State, emphasized his commitment to giving back to his community.

“I believe it’s time to take the creative industry in Benue to the next level, by bringing top producers, directors, and marketers to invest in our local talents, we can create jobs, generate revenue, and put Benue State on the global map of creative activities.”

He said Benue Creative Summit will focus on the business aspects of the creative industry, including social media marketing, branding, and monetization. The MACA International Film Festival, a 5-day event, will bring together industry professionals and investors to support local filmmakers.

Terry equally proposed the establishment of a world-class acoustic music studio and film village in Benue State, which will provide local creatives with access to international-standard facilities and equipment.

“With the support of the government and stakeholders, I am confident that the Benue Creative Summit and MACA International Film Festival will mark the beginning of a new era for the Benue entertainment industry,” he added.

While commending the Benue state Governor’s Hyacinth Iormem Alia support for the creative industry, expressing confidence that the project would be well-founded by the governor given his focus on economic growth and development in the state.

“The Governor Alia’s administration has created jobs, generated revenue, and invested in infrastructure, laying the groundwork for the creative industry to thrive.”

He added that the Governor’s achievements in his first year in office are impressive, with notable successes in the following areas:

Economic Growth: Procurement of fertilizer, establishment of a multifunctional fashion hub, and development of the mining sector

Infrastructure Development: Construction of strategic roads, renovation of the State Secretariat, and upgrade of the Benue State University.

Security: Containment of inter-ethnic/community skirmishes, farmer/herder crisis, and militia attacks.

-Education: Allocation of 15% of the 2024 budget to education, training of head teachers, and distribution of instructional materials.

Meanwhile, Benue Entertainment Guild Alliance (BENGA), has Throws Weight Behind Benue Creative Summit and MACA International Film Festival

The Benue Entertainment Guild Alliance (BENGA) has equally pledged total support for the upcoming Benue Creative Summit and MACA International Film Festival, initiated by Amb. Nyam Terkimbi Terry.

In a statement signed by BENGA Vice President, Mr. Sunny Okwori, expressed his appreciation for Terry’s efforts, saying: “We are grateful for Amb. Nyam Terkimbi Terry’s vision to take the Benue entertainment industry to the next level. We believe that this initiative will usher in a new era for our industry,” BENGA statement added.

Okwori assured that BENGA is fully committed to ensuring the success of the Benue Creative Summit and MACA International Film Festival. He emphasized that the association is eager to work with Terry and other stakeholders to make the events a reality.

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Okwori pointed out a few key areas that need attention to strengthen the Benue entertainment industry:

Infrastructure Development: The need for modern, well-equipped studios, theaters, and other infrastructure to support the growth of the industry.
