A political group, AMA Vanguard, has distanced its principal, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, from the recent unfortunate incident involving a self-proclaimed social media provocateur attempting to defame the exalted throne of His Royal Highness, Ejeh Ankpa (Agaaaagu).
The group said attempts to link Alhaji Murtal Ajaka (AMA) to the incident represents nothing more than a desperate bid by attention-seekers to gain relevance in the political arena amid a dearth of substantive issues.
In a statement issued following a meeting their of January 2, 2026, the group, led by Dr. Salihu Adam Jiddah, AMA Vanguard emphasized that It is disheartening to witness the Igala rich society drifting from its noble foundations.
“A place where hitherto, children averted their gaze from elders; let alone uttering words of disrespect. We denounce this outrage unequivocally and implore His Royal Highness, as the compassionate father he is renowned to be, to extend forgiveness to the errant individual and others who may have wronged him. The character’s outburst starkly deviates from our time-honored values.
“AMA Vanguard unequivocally condemns this reprehensible act in the strongest terms. We urge all Igala youth to reconnect with our rich cultural heritage, rooted in profound respect for one another—particularly our revered traditional institutions,” he said.
Addressing attempts to fabricate controversy by linking Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka to this incident, AMA Vanguard said they deemed such tactics shameful.
The group further stated that “The Ejeh Ankpa is fully aware of the profound esteem in which His Excellency Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka holds him and his esteemed throne. We advise detractors to redouble their efforts to promote their own unviable candidates, whose track records are transparent to the people of Kogi East. Resorting to cheap political points by associating His Excellency with the recklessness of an unrelated individual—who is neither his appointee nor beneficiary—marks their gravest miscalculation”
“His Royal Highness embodies noble grace: a distinguished, well-traveled, humble leader who navigates royalty and politics with wisdom, is impervious to such deceits.”
Dr. Salihu Adam Jiddah reiterated that Alhaji Ajaka regards Ankpa as his second home, a bond evident in the resounding support from Ankpa and surrounding LGAs during the last election, where they embraced him as their own.
Regarding the 2027 Senate Election, AMA Vanguard affirmed that no amount of blackmail will halt the unstoppable momentum to support Alhaji Murtala Ajaka as their representative.
“Those peddling smears would do well to repair their tarnished reputations within the Igala nation and articulate tangible contributions to Kogi East that position them as credible contenders. MURI AJAKA YAWA.”
