Alumni Associations Urged To Support “The Education for All” Advocacy

For the yearnings and aspiration of the people to be attained in the area of education, Alumni Associations have been called upon to support educational development efforts of government at all levels. This was part of the remarks made by the Ag. Permanent Secretary of the Kogi state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Okpanachi Mathias K. when the Executive Members of the University of Jos Alumni Association paid him a visit in his office.

He insisted that Alumni groups ought to serve as vanguard of grassroot mobilsation towards academic excellence and appealed that the UNIJOS ALUMNI must take the lead in that directive. He appealed to graduates of the University of Jos to always be good ambassadors of the University which he described as one of the best in terms of academic and moral development amongst universities in Nigeria. He also used the opportunity to appreciate His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the appointment of one their members Hon. Edward Onoja as Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi state.

In his address at  the visit, the state Chairman of University of Jos Alumni Association, Kogi state Chapter said they were in the office of the Permanent Secretary to invite him to the “Josites Reunion” aimed at creating a platform for Josites to socialize and refresh memories of the old days at  the University.
