The attention of Dr. Toyin Akanle Campaign Organization has been drawn to a press statement which caption was referred to above by one of aides of the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole.
It is unfortunate to see the length certain individuals are prepared to go in the name of politics in attempts to malign others.
The author and his sponsor(s) from the press statement have displayed total lack of knowledge of Dr. Toyin Akanle and the essence of his aspiration.
Dr. Toyin Akanle has through hard work, diligence and commitment established himself as a man of decorum and integrity whose involvement in politics is inspired by genuine desire to provide quality representation to the people.
His unblemished record spanning over three decades in public service is testimony to this and no attempt at blackmail will distract him.
The issue of Kogi West Senatorial Seat in the 2019 election has elicited so much concern and reasonably so due to so many factors.
All that Dr. Toyin Akanle and other West Kogites demand is a free, transparent and credible primaries devoid of manipulation to ensure the true wishes of the people prevail.
One wonders when it has become a crime in constitutional democracy to solicit for equity and fairness in the process that will lead to the emergence of candidates from the numerous aspirants. It is also bemusing that a genuine clamour for due process is now dubbed plans to attack as if the agitation for equity and fairness is synonymous with the sycophantic disposition of any individual or group of persons. Equating calls for clarification in an atmosphere of conflicting and contrasting pronouncements can only be tagged, ‘plans to attack’ by warped and myopic minds.
Dr. Toyin Akanle Campaign Organization wish to reiterate that every attempt to make us engage in mudslinging is futile because the ideals we hold dear is in total contrast to the juvenile exhibition of political rascality of those who want to, out of mischief misrepresent issues to show servile loyalty which is clearly nothing but pathetic self preservation manoeuvres.
Dr. Toyin Akanle Campaign Organization remain committed to the struggle for a transparent and credible primary election devoid of rancor that might adversely affect the fortunes of our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming election.
We advise those crying wolf where there is none to take note and be guided appropriately because we are too focused to be distracted by the pathetic and mischievous activities of misfits who trade in unsubstantiated allegations just for the sake of politics.
Now that His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello has reaffirmed his commitment to a free and fair primary and his categorical statement that he has no anointed candidate, we admonish those proclaiming to have pocketed endorsements to heed His Excellency’s advice to go pick their nomination forms and get ready for primary election.
Dr. Toyin Akanle Campaign Organization has no doubt that the clarification of today will lay to rest the name dropping antics of certain persons who seek undue advantage over other aspirants.
