All Cleared Staff of Igalamela-Odolu Have Been Paid Up To August 2017 – NULGE

All staff of Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area have been paid salaries up to August, 2017.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu chapter of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Alhaji Tahirudeen Yunusa Abdullahi.

Alhaji Tahirudeen made the statement during a courtesy visit to the Chief Administrator of Igalamela/Odolu, Hon. Joseph Baron Okwoli in his office at Ajaka.

Alhaji Tahirudeen, accompanied by other top executives of the union stated that he was satisfied with performance of the Baron led government in the local government, especially as regards the issue of worker’s welfare.
“The majority of the people are in support of your government Don’t listen to the minute few that are spreading false stories in order to tarnish the image of the government,” he said.
He further stated that “what you have done is on ground for everyone to see and feel and as the representative of the workers in the local government, I stand to say that over 90% of us are happy with you”.
He commended the Administrator for embarking on meaningful projects such as the construction of a new Secretariat Complex, renovation of LG Guest House, opening of rural roads, payment of school fees and JAMB registrations among others.
Alhaji Tahirudeen equally appreciated the Chief Administrator for his “unique support” to the staff of the local government during the screening exercise. “With your efforts, significant number of our staff have been cleared”. He added.
Reacting, Hon. Joseph Baron Okwoli thanked the leadership of NULGE for visiting and commended them for always standing up to protect the welfare of workers. He assured the leadership of NULGE of the readiness of the present administration to rebrand and protect the image of the local government.
He commended Alhaji Tahirudeen Abdullahi whom he described as “a dogged fighter and protector of the rights of workers. He is human and has his faults but I rate him very highly.
“I am greatly honoured that you have come here today to congratulate and strengthen ties with the present administration. Our mission is to elevate the standards of the local government and place Igalamela/Odolu on the map of successful local government areas in the state. We are here to add value”
Hon. Baron also pledged to work with private investors in a ‘public, private partnership’ in order to improve the socio-economic condition of the local government.
