The wife of late Mallam Ibrahim Ali Nbaba, a livestock seller who was brutally murdered by a Police officer, Malama Bilkisu Talatu Ibrahim has cried out for help.
The distraught wife, whose husband was killed by Ibrahim Isah, a police sergeant told journalists that she and her seven children have been living in sorrow and terrible condition since 13th March 2018 when her husband was brutally murdered by a police sergeant, Ibrahim Isah.
Narrating the story amidst tears in her Adankolo Lokoja residence, Talatu said her late husband was, until his death, the bread winner in the family whose ambition was the ensure quality education for his children.
“My husband told me that he’ll be going to Ganaja early and directed me to prepare his breakfast early because he wanted to drop the children and pay their school fees. Unknown to the children and I that we will not see him forever again.
“We used to communicate very often on the telephone. We talked many times in a day. But on that fateful day, I received a phone call that I should come to Ganaja, only to get there and meet my husband stone dead. I didn’t know what happened next,” she said.
Talatu appealed to the State Government to come to their aid.
“We are living in a terrible condition. We are living in a rented apartment, the rent has since expired, the Children are no longer going to school, we heard that the Policeman had been dismissed and presently arraigned in court.
“I want to use this medium to call on the authority concerned, particularly the Human Right Commission, that justice must be done, the culprit must be brought to justice,” she appealed.
The woman said despite the promise made to the family by the State Government, nothing has been done.
The widow who was full of appreciation to the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the Administrator of Lokoja Local Government Council, Hon. Shiru Lawal for standing by the family throughout the trial period, however, appealed to State Government to come to their aid.
She explained that since the dismissal of Ibrahim Isah by the police authority, the State Police Command under Mr Ali Janga has not been in contact with the family.
It will be recalled that sometime in March 13, 2018, a police sergeant Ibrahim Isah, allegedly shot and killed 45-year-old Ibrahim Ali Nbaba at his Ganaja livestock market, Lokoja.
The police officer had since be dismissed and charge to court. The case, which began about a month ago has been adjourned to 9th of May 2018 for mention.
