The Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Kogi state chapter, has congratulated the Governor of Kogi state on the successful resolution of the inherited dispute between labour and government.
In a statement by the chairman of ALGON kogi state, Aloysius Okino, commended the governor for making the welfare of workers in the state a priority.
He noted that the action taking so far by the governor and his team shows that the government is focused and determined to turn the fortunes of the state around for good.
The statement also commended the organize labour in the state for calling off their four months old strike, asking them to continue to have faith in the new government based on the antecedents of the governor.
The statement appealed to workers at all levels to continue to have confidence in the new government, noting that the governors body language and action is reassuring.
He called on the workers to be more committed to their jobs as they have always done, saying that government programmes can only be realized with a well motivated work force.
“Even though, the crisis was inherited by the new administration in the state, the governor’s swift action is commendable. It shows committed leadership”
“On our own part, we will continue to support the governor in his quest to better the lives of Kogi workers at both the state and Local council” he maintained
