Akofirin Festival: Kogi Set to Turn Around Its Tourism Potentials

The Kogi State government says it will continue to support initiatives geared towards reviving the people’s culture and tradition that will also attract tourists from within and beyond the state to its historical monuments and festivals.

The speaker of the state house of assembly Matthew Kolawole gave the assurance when he represented the state government at the maiden edition of the Akofirin Cultural Festival in Oke-Offin in Kabba-Bunu local government area of the state.

The festival attracted many sons and daughters of Okun land to Oke Offfin in Kabba Bunu local government

Traditional leaders and other dignitaries at the event say fiestas like this are key to promoting the state’s god given inheritance.

Sights of historical connection to the people from the Ojaapata were also part of the fun filled event.

Various dance troupes were on hand to add additional spice to the event.
