Ahead of the 2019 general elections, a group in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State, Political Frontier (PF), has called on the people of the area to give massive support to the candidature of Hon Aloysius Adeiza Okino, the House of Representatives candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The group argued that he Okino been tested and can be trusted.

Addressing journalists in Ajaokuta, ahead of the February 16th 2019 House of Representatives election, the group maintained that the events of the last three and half years have shown that Okino still remain the best option for the people.

According to the group, the area has retrogressed in terms of infrastructure, human capital development and empowerment since Okino left the leadership of the Local government in 2016, saying that he should be returned to allow him continue his good works.

The group regretted that the Ajaokuta Steel Company that was so prominent Nationally and internationally during the PDP era has suddenly disappeared from National prominence as a result of poor representations.

According the group, the ailing Steel complex needs a vibrant representative who can join hands the senator, Ahmed Ogembe to actualize the dream of a truly industrialized Nigeria.

He listed the achievements of the PDP candidate in the past to include, massive youths and women empowerment, security of lives and property, electricity supply, efficient healthcare delivery, scholarship to indigent Students in the area, provision of water to rural communities, opening up of ruler feeder roads among others.

“We in Ajaokuta Local Government are confident that he (Okino) will give us efficient and vibrant representation. He has done it before as chairman of local government, and the State Chairman of ALGON.

“As at today, Ajaokuta Federal Constituency has no representation. The federal government as at today is not even aware of the existence of the Ajaokuta Steel Company. This is very bad. It took the efforts of the state Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the president to talk about the company during his visit to Lokoja,” the group said.

They called on the people to give total support to Aloysius Okino so as to restore the lost glory of the area and once again put Ajaokuta on the map of national and international politics.
