Ajaokuta is Criminally Marginalized- Hon. Sheikh Bello

The Chief whip of Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ajaokuta State Constituency, Hon. Sheikh Bello Hassan Abdullahi Balogun has donated study materials to students as well as scholarship to 500 students.
The event which took place at Eganyi community of Ajaokuta Local Government Area yesterday, Thursday 15th May, 2017 as part of his Constituency outreach didn’t focus only on students, but also provided support for widows and Youth to enjoy the true dividends of democracy.
In his address, Hon. Hassan Bello stated that Ajaokuta is criminally marginalized in terms of placement in State establishment, a situation that need to be urgently addressed to give sense of belonging to all the LGAs in the State.
Bello enumerated some of the successful motions he moved on the Floor of the House to include upgrading of Ajaokuta Cottage Hospital into a General Hospital which has gain approval for work to commence soon, the road network of Obarara junction through Obangede to Opake, and electrification project of Adogu, Ogodo /Obangede and Upake that has been approved by the State Government, adding that he has been actively involved in seeing to the completion of the Ajaokuta Steel Company.
While assuring the people of his unwavering commitment to the education of the younger generation in his Constituency, he said “it’s our responsibility as political office holders to allow our school age children irrespective of the political affiliations of their parents to enjoy the true dividends of democracy”. He went to say “Our widows are also to be catered for by us as it’s an injunction to us in the Holy book”.
Unveiling the outreach materials, the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam acknowledged the Legislator for the initiative saying ‘it’s a justification of good representation’. According to the Speaker, ‘he who empowers the youth has empowered a nation’.
He also admonished the beneficiaries to make adequate use of the study materials in aiding their academic pursuit as well as remained focus as leaders of tomorrow.
Speaking on the representation of Hon. Bello, the Kogi State Commissioner of Health, Hon. Dr. Saka Haruna described him as a distinguished member, adding that they are proud of his kind of representation as a dividend of good leadership and promise to give him the necessary support to continue the good gesture he is known for.
Speaking in the same vein, the Local Government Administrator, Hon. Mustapha Aka’aba rated the performance of the Legislator higher compared to some of his predecessors.
The event was attended by many dignitaries across the State including his member colleagues Hon. Sunday Shigaba of Bassa State Constituency and Hon. Haruna Idoko Musa of Idah State Constituency.
