All is set for the commencement of the second phase of Honourable Idirisu Lawal’s free medical outreach to the people of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency.
In a chat with Kogireports.com, the House of Representatives member confirmed that the next phase of the outreach will start on Friday, 7th April, 2017.
1,231 persons benefited from the first phase of the free eye treatment outreach at Liberty Hospital in Geregu Camp, Ajaokuta Steel territory between 3rd and 5th of March, 2017. Follow-up examination and further treatment was organised for the beneficiaries ten days later.
The first outreach recorded 38 successful eye surgeries, 547 persons were given eye glasses and the rest got various drugs as recommended by the ophthalmologists.
According the lawmaker, the second phase will not be limited to eye challenges but other health issues like diabetes, high blood pressure and hernia. He assured that provisions have been made to cater for health challenges of about 2000 constituents.
Feedback and appreciation from beneficiaries in Ajaokuta has been overwhelming.
