Ahead of the rerun election in Unit 003, Oturu Opowuro E Ward of Ogori/Magongo, Kogi State House of Assembly scheduled for Saturday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has detected 116 illegal registered voters.
It will be recalled that the election that brought in Mr Gabriel Odaudu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was annulled by the election petition tribunal sitting in Lokoja, after the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Mr Ayedun Abiodun, challenged the result of the election.
The illegal voters discover are allegedly Edo indigenes from Ibillo and Lampese.
Mr Abiodun, when speaking with newsmen, called on the state security agencies to kindly beef up security during the election. He also prayed for a free and fair election.
