United States of America based philanthropist, Prince Elijah Ibinayin, has released N700,000 for the payment of 2022 West African Examination Council (WAEC) registration fees for all senior secondary (SS3) students studying at Kabba Community High School, Kakun, Kogi State.
The funds also covered other contingent expenses of all the students in his alma mater.
Ibinayin, who is the Senior Vice President of EDFOD LLC, both in Nigeria and USA, presented a cheque to the school on Saturday. He expressed gratitude to God for using him to accomplish the task of relieving parents of paying WAEC fees for the second time.
He was represented by Mr. David David, who handed the cheque of N675,500 to the principal of the school, Mr. Arokoyo Matthew Medaiyedu.
The philanthropist said he will not rest until everyone who deserves help is attended to because, judging from his background, he never believed he could go this far in life.
He charged the students to work hard for their success because that is the best he expected from them.
In his speech the President of KCHS old students association, Mr. Bayo Owoleke thanked the donor and commended him for his steadfastness in ensuring that education is at the forefront in his priority.
He emphatically said that Prince Elijah Ibinayin is a God-sent who has treasure of humanity in him.
He equally commended other alumni who have been contributing silently to lift the school to the present status. He prayed for the students to excel as they will be writing their WAEC examination soon.
Speaking with Kogi Reports, another alumnus, Mr Matthew Ajigi commended Prince Elijah Ibinayin who, he said, has been doing wonderful well not only for the students, but his community, local government and individuals.
Ajigi said he is not surprised because the trend of giving has been the lifestyle of the donor, and prayed to God to grant Ibinayin good health and prosperity.
Recall that on January 13, 2020, Prince Ibinayin made funds available for the payment of WAEC registration fees for all senior secondary (SS3) students studying at Kabba Community Secondary School, Kakun.
Also, in August, 2020, he doled out two hundred thousand Naira as palliative to students preparing to write WAEC in same school.
