The Kogi state government has sealed Daarul kitab Islamin Training Centre for operating without government approval.
Unknown gunmen attacked the training centre located in Zariagi, Adavi local government area of the state, on April 26 and abducted 23 students, including the wife of the proprietor. The state government, however, announced the rescue of all victims on Wednesday evening.

The State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, on Thursday, led a team from the State Ministry of Education to seal the school and directed the proprietor of the school to report to the Ministry with immediate effect.
He directed that the school will remain closed until government is satisfied that all the requirements for the establishment of school are meant before it can be reopened.

Kogi state government, he said, is alive to its responsibility of ensuring that schools in the state are conducive and safe for teaching and learning, noting that the government will not compromise standards in the establishment of schools.
The Commissioner said though the proprietor has commenced the process of registration, the school ought not to have been opened until approval is given.
