The Chief Administrator for Dekina Local Government Area, Hon Kabiru Idris has said the Kogi State Oil Palm Company located in Acharu, when completed, is capable of employing many unemployed youths in the area and increase the revenue base of the state.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with our reporter at the company’s premises during an inspection tour by a delegation of the state government, Hon Idris commended Governor Yahaya Bello for the type of attention he is giving to all sectors of the state’s economy.

The administrator, who noted his optimism that the project would soon receive the attention it required, further expressed belief that the Governor would march his words with action.

He said; “The Governor has always said that Dekina is his second home and that he does not joke with anything that has to do Dekina people, neither does he treat with levity anything he feels would bring human and physical development to the people of the area.

“It is on these premises that I lay strong optimism that the Governor will march his words with action and complete the Oil Palm project because as one of the largest Local Government Areas in the country, we have the largest concentration of youths that would be employed when the company project is concluded.”

Hon Idris, who praised the governor for his giant strides in other areas of the state’s economy, said Kogi State is lucky to have a young and dynamic leader in Governor Bello at this point in time, assuring him the unalloyed support of the people of Dekina Local Government Area at all times.

He called on the youths of the Local Government to be patient with and prayerful for the administration, saying it was only through such engagements that they can contribute their quota meaningfully to the overall development of the state.

The administrator, who frowned at any form of vices that are capable of endangering democratic practices in his council, enjoined them to be productive in any positive venture they find themselves.
